Palmetto Medical
Care that holds you through the hard parts
How we work
Integration as the starting point
At Palmetto Medical, psychiatric care and psychotherapy are designed to inform each other from the very first appointment. Clinicians communicate, coordinate, and share a clinical picture of you, so you are never re-explaining yourself from scratch.
Unhurried appointments
We protect appointment time deliberately. Whether you are meeting with a psychiatrist or a therapist, the session belongs to you, not to a queue. Clinicians arrive prepared, and you leave feeling heard rather than processed.
Evidence that fits the person
Research-grounded treatment approaches guide every clinical decision here, but the evidence is always filtered through what is realistic and meaningful for your life, your history, and your goals.
Continuity over convenience
Rotating through providers is one of the quiet costs of fragmented care. We prioritize long-term clinical relationships, because therapeutic progress and accurate psychiatric management both depend on someone who knows your story over time.
Our story
Some things in life ask more of you than you expected. When that gap between what you can carry and what you're being asked to carry grows too wide, having a clinical team that genuinely knows you makes all the difference.
Palmetto Medical was founded on a simple conviction: that outpatient behavioral health works best when psychiatry and therapy are not separate silos but continuous parts of one relationship. The practice grew from a shared frustration with fragmented care, and a belief that people in South Carolina deserve something more coherent and more human than that.
What we hold ourselves to
- Integration over referral loops. when psychiatry and therapy share a clinical home, the care you receive is steadier, more responsive, and less likely to fall through the cracks between appointments.
- Honesty about complexity. mental health is rarely linear, and we will not pretend otherwise; we tell you what we are seeing, what we do not yet know, and how we plan to learn more.
- Warmth without drift. a caring environment does not mean a clinically vague one; we are genuinely invested in the people we work with and equally committed to rigorous, thoughtful practice.
- Respect for your pace. you set the rhythm of your care; we offer clinical guidance, but we do not push you faster than your readiness allows.
- Whole-person thinking. what happens in your body, your relationships, your work, and your history all belongs in the clinical room, and we make space for every dimension.
- Transparency in every step. from your first call to your ongoing treatment plan, we explain what we are doing and why, so that you are always an informed participant in your own care.
Our clinical team
The clinical team at Palmetto Medical is composed of board-certified psychiatrists and licensed psychotherapists, each credentialed in their specialty and chosen for their ability to work collaboratively across disciplines. Credentials matter to us, and so does the capacity to sit with a person, think carefully, and stay curious about what is actually going on beneath the surface.
